Notes for John Bothwell (Bodel)
There was a fight over his debts/estate. Samuel Bothwell was his executor and Richard Bothwell, Isabella McAlestor, Margaret Bothwell, and Mary Jain Cain sued.
In 1872, he was in the Dundalk Union workhouse fever hospital. The court case requiring him to pay for his care said he was the eldest son and that his mother had died “lately.” During the Quarter Sessions Oct. 25, 1872, the Guardians of Dundalk Union were awarded 15s 7d for his care as he was not a pauper.
