Lillian and her mother, Ruth, were secretary and president (respectively) of the Daughters of the Good Shepherd in San Francisco. It was a part of the “Temperance” movement and argued against “ladies entrances” for places that sold liquor.
Name spelled Danford in 1880 census, Danforth in 1910.

In 1902, she was a trustee of the newly founded Pacific Bible College in Los Angeles, affiliated with the Nazarene Church. The following year she was elected to the general missionary board of the church. In 1908 she was a trustee of the Nazarene University and Deet’s Pacific Bible College (Now Point Loma Nazarene University) of the Church of the Nazaarene.
