From obituary: J.S. Bothwell died at age 49. 1st baggage master for the FEC (Florida East Coast) railway in Miami. Came to Miami 34 years before (age 15). Later became chief clerk in freight department. Charter member and 1st president of Miami Lodge (#974) of Brotherhood of Railway Clerks.
