According to ‘the Scottish Reformation” by Ian B. Cowan, David and Janet were betrothed at 8am on Feb. 13, 1532 and married at 4am the following day. No banns were published. Cowan notes that although they were married in the church, the process was unusual. Janet was the daughter of James, earl of Arran.
