Notes for Theresa Wala
Theresa Wala came to U.S. in 1905 as Mrs. Vincent Deutsch. Apparently first husband, Joseph Wala, is buried in Austria. I have copy of passport.
Theresa did not learn to speak English.
Notes for Anton R (Child 1)
Anton, Therese (wife), and daughters, Emma, Bertha, Gusta arrived in Baltimore, Maryland on July 19, 1905 on the ship "Frankfort". Besides Anton's mother and her husband, Anton's sister, Matilda Peitsch and her husband, Frank, accompanied them. Anton Klug also had a brother, Frank, who remained in Austria with his family. Some of Frank's descendants may live in Fulda, Germany. Gusta Klug Zeches remembered her parents sending clothing to the German Klug family during the War.
The family went to the Fulda area because friends (Habermans and Winklers) already lived there. Mrs. Winkler (nee Peitsch) was Frank Peitsch's sister. Anton's family first lived on a farm seven miles west of Fulda, MN near Iona. Frank and Matilda Peitsch lived at Iona on a farm.
After living outside Fulda for seven years, Anton Klug moved his family to a farm 3 miles west of Slayton, then after seven years there, moved his family to a farm at Morris, MN. Both Anton and Therese (Voit) Klug are buried at Morris, MN. (see birth certificates)
After Anton Klug's death in 1931 and Therese Klug's death in 1946, son Anton, ran farm until his healthy became poorly.
For future reference: I believe Anton R Klug was born in Kl. Jestreb in the district of Hohenstadt, Crownland, Maehren. The Czech name for Kl. Jestreb is Jestr'ebi'co and the Czech name for Hohenstadt is Zabr'eh. Also the Catholic parish may be Pobu'ci.
