Enlisted 8 May 1940 USMC Reserves, Co. C. 13th Btn., Burbank, Calif., in 1940. Did ACT July 7-21, 1940 at MCBe San Diego. Transferred to General Service Unit, 11th reserve district, MCB San Diego. on 13 Sept. 1940 from Co. B 13th BTN, USMCR Los Angeles Rank: PVT.
Enlisted as a private in the U.S. Army 18 Jan, 1944 in Los Angeles. Occupation listed as Pattern Maker, wood.
Served with Alaskan Wing, Air Transport Command, US Army Air Corps, Great Falls AAB 1944
Transferred to the Infantry. Sailed 5/24/45 from San Francisco for the Philippines, arrived Manila June 16, 1945. Joined 25th Infantry Division 7/4, assigned to Co. F, 161 Infantry Regiment of the 25th on July 6, 1945 in Manila. Unit moved to Nagoya Oct. 1945, and the 161st was inactivated on Nov. 1, 1945.
