Samuel moved from Dedham to Windham, Conn.,about 1714, thence to Lebanon in 171 6, where he died May 29, 1750. (Will In Guild book)as follows:-- The will o f Samuel Guild reads: In the name of God amen, The 6th day of February 1748- 9, I, Samuel Guild, of Lebanon, in the County of Windham, Connecticut Colony, i n New England, being sick and weak in body, but of sound mind and memory, thank s be given to God therefore calling unto mind the mortality of my body, and kno wing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my l ast Will and Testament: That is to say, pricipally and first of all, I give and recommmend to earth to be buried in decent Christian Burial, at the discretion of my executors, nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall rece ive the same again by the mighty power of God; and as touching such earthly est ate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me in this life, devise and dispose o f the same in the following manner and form Imprimas,--I give and bequeath to S arah my dearly beloved wife, the sum of twenty five pounds in bills of publik c redit, of the old tenor, miking good to her the discount or sink of s'd bills o f credit to be levied out of my estate, together with all my household goods, d ebts, and movable effects, and likewise my dwelling house, that is to say that part of it which I built, exclusive from the other part which my son Samuel bui lt for himself, to be improved by her during her natural life; and furthermore, so much cyder and apples out of my part of the orchard as shall be needful for her support during her natural life. Lifewise to be allowed a sufficiency of fire wood. Item,--I give to my well beloved son Samuel Guild my cane with whi ch I used to walk, or in lieu thereof twenty shillings of ye tenor. Item,-- I give to the heirs of my well beloved son Jeremiah Guild deceased; in the first place I give to my well beloved Cynthia Guild, daughter of ye abovesd Jeremiah Guild, the sum of five pounds, old tenor, Item,... *There is nothing further written concerning the will.
