Notes for Isaac Bronson
Taken from WFT Vol 1, #1068 are the following probate documents bearing on Isaac Bronson's estate and identifying children living at the time of his death.

Know all men by these presents that we Isaac Brounson, John Brounson, Thomas Brounson and Ebenezer Brounson of Waterbury, and Samuel Brounson of Farmington, and Thomas Hikcox and Steven Upson of said Waterbury, with and in behalf of our Wives, Mary Hikcox and Sarah Upson, and Richard Brounson, of Woodbury with and in behalf of my wife Mary Brownson, theChildren and Heirs of Isaac Brounson, of Waterbury Deceased. Haveing agreed on a division and Settlement of the Estate left us by our Honored Father, which he had not ordered, or Settled in his life time, and thinking we might do it nearer the mind of the Deceased, than the Court Could do. Each and Every one of us, being of Lawful Age to agree, and Receive his or her portion. And Accordingly haveing Agreed, and made a Distribution, on March the 12th one thousand Seven Hundred and Nineteen, an Inventory being first taken, which Inventory and Distribution, as our Agreement, and Settlement of said Estate, we Lay before the Court of probates, Held in Woodbury for a Confirmation. And we the said heirs Isaac Brounson, John, Thomas Brounson, Ebenezer Brounson, Thomas Hikcox and Steven Upson of Waterbury, and Samuel Brounson of Farmington, in the County of Hartford, and Richard Brounson of Woodbury, in the County of Fairfield, and Colony of Connecticut in New England, do by these firmly bind our Selves, our Heirs, Executors, and Adminstrators to the Court, and each to other, in the Sum of fifty pounds Currant Money. That we will Stand to this Agreement and Distribution, that we have made Among our Selves, and that Each Shall quietly possess, and Enjoy, his or her portion, as it is thusly set out, Peacibly and Quietly, with out any Disturbance, from Any of us, our Heirs, Executors, Adminstrators. And to make this Binding and that it may Stand in force, against him or them that Shall Cause Disturbance, by Denying, or Endeavouring to alter this our Agreement and Distribution thus allowed and Settle by the Court. We have Each and Every one of us Set our hand and Seal to this instrument this Seventeenth Day of February one thousand Seven Hundred Nineteen twenty, and in the fifth year of our Soverign Lord George of Great Britain, France and Irland, King.

Where as our Honored Father, Isaac Brounson of Waterbury, In the County of Hartford, and Colony of Connecticut In New England Died Intestate, and haveing Left a widow, Mary Brounson to Whom as the Law Directs In Intestate Estates belongs one third of the personal Estate for Ever, and one third part of the Real Estate During life, as her Dowry, for her Support and Maintenance. But She being Uncapable of takeing, and Improveing the Same to the End Intended In the Law.
Know all men by these prersents that we the Subscribers Isaac Brounson, John Brounson, John Brounson, Thomas Brounson, Ebenezer Brounson, Thomas Hikcox, and Stephen Upson of Waterbury, and Samuel Brounson of Farmington, in County of Hartford and Richard Brounson of Woodbury in the County of Fairfield, and Colony above sd., the Children and Heirs of the Above Isaac Brounson of Waterbury, Deceased do take that part of the Estate which Belongs to our Mother, the Widow, and Should have Been Set out to her by the Law, and do by these firmly Bind and oblige our selves, to the Court of Probate Held in Woodbury, in the County of Fairfield, and Colony above sd., where the sd. Estate Is to be Settled. That we will take the Care of our Mother the widow, Mary Brounson. And find her with a Comfortable Maintenance, of Meat, Drink, Lodging and Apparel, both in Sickness and in Health, So long as She Shall Live and in Such way or ways as we Shall Agree Among our Selves. And to the true and faithful performance of the above obligation we bind our Selves, our Heirs, Executors, Administrators firmly by these presents, in the sum of one Hundred and fifty pounds of Currant Money, to be paid unto the Above sd. Court by him or them that shall neglect or Refuse the Above Condition to be ordered and Imployed to the Widows Maintenance by ye sd. Court. The Condition of this bond is Such that if the Above named and bounded Heirs, Isaac Brounson, John Brounson, Samuel Brounson, Thomas Brounson, Thomas Hikcox, Ebenezer Brounson, Steven Upson, and Richard Brounson Shall in Such ways, as we Shall agree Among our Selves, well and truly perform the Above Condition, with Respect to our Mother, the Widows Maintenance, then this bond to be void. If not to Stand in full force and power against us to demand and Recover the Same and make it binding to us, our Heirs, Executors & Adminstrators. We have signed and sealed, this instrument this seventeenth Day of February, one Thousand Seven Hundred and Nineteen Twenty, and in the fifth year of the Reign of our Soveraign Lord George by the Grace of God King of Great Brittain, France and Irland.

We Isaac Brounson, John Brounson, DSamuel Brounson, Thomas Brounson, Ebenezer Brounson and Thomas Hikcox, Steven Upson, and Richard Brounson with and behalf of our wives Mary Hikcox, Sarah Upson and Marcy Brounson the children and heirs of Isaac Brounson of Waterbury in the County of Hartford and Colony of Connecticut in New England who died without settling of his estate. Each of us being of lawful age to agree and to receive his or her portion of the estate left us by our honoured Father and including that part which should have been set out to the widow our mother we giving bond on her maintenance did on the 12th of March one thousand seven hundred nineteen agree upon a distribution as follows viz. to the eldest son seven pounds above any other of the sons and the rest of the sons seven pounds above the daughters, as is here set down:
1st to the oldest son Isaac Brounson
a part of the home lot, 1 acre & 1/4 North side lot. / a lot called Gsland Medow and upland / 1/2 a lot in Steals Medow / half a lot on Steals Brook /a lot in Handcox Medow called Newel Lot / a seventh part of the out land at Farmington / land and buildings at the farm called Break Nok / out lands and part of the division last drawn / moveables.
2nd to John Brounson
a home lot with the buildings / a seventh part of the out lands at Farmington / a lot at the upper end of Handcox Medow / Woster Swamp lot / lot middle Stals Medow / a third part of the Boggy Medow by Woodbury Road / moveables / 1/10th out lands.
3 rd to Samuel Brounson
Lands given by deed of gift in our fathers life time to be accounted the whole of his portion.
4th to Thomas Brounson
half the Bever Medow lot / half the Eight Acre Lot / a lot upper end Long Medow / lot at lower end Munhan / half a lot on Steals Brook / Brounson Lot in Handcox Medow / half Pine Medow / a third part of the Boggy Medow by Woodbury Road / 6 acres on south side of Burnt Hill / half Old Town Plat Lot / a 7th part out lands and 3 in the lot last drawn for / moveables / a seventh part out lands in Waterbury.
5th to Ebenezer Brounson
2 Acres in the Home Lot with orchard / half lot called Tailor Lot north end / half ye Eight Acre Lot / of the last division, one third part of the Boggy Medow by W. Road / a piece of land south of Bucks Medow on Small Brook / a seventh part of the out lands at Farmington / moveables / a seventh part of the out lands in Waterbury.
6th to Mary Hickox the wife of Thomas Hickox
a quarter of the lot at lower end of Steal Medow / half a lot in Bucks Medow / a quarter of a lot in Pine Medows / half Old Townplat Lot / 7th part of out lands in Farmington / a 7th of the out lands in Waterbury / the last division of moveables.
7th to Sarah Upson the wife of Steven Upson
Half Bever Medow Lot / half of Bucks Medow Lot / a quarter of lot in Pine Medow / half Old Townplat Lot / part of last division / a 7th of out lands at Farmington / a seventh of the undivided lands in Waterbury.
