Notes for Oliver (Child 1)
Pages 35-36 of "Genealogical Directory Of Rhode Island" describes many gifts and bequests from Oliver to members of his family. Chronologically:
March 28, 1706. He deeded brother Joseph, for love etc, 6 acres on the south side of the Pawtuxet River, which was "my honored father, Abiah Carpenter's.
July 27, 1724. He deeded son Christopher 180 acres in East Greenwich.
November 23, 1724. He deeded son John 160 acres in East Greenwich.
November 29, 1727. Oliver's will was proved. Wife Sarah was executrix and friend Jeremiah Gould was overseer. To sons Solomon and William who had considerable estate, L10 each. To sons Joshua and Oliver, L200 each at age. To daughters Sarah and Hannah, L150 each. To son Abiah, "a legacy at age". To son Thomas the farm where William Sweet dwells. (William might be the son of Richard Sweet and Priscilla Carpenter.)
