One of 23 survivors of the Indiaman “Doddington,” was killed by natives or wild animals when he and two others sailed a boat the survivors had built to a nearby island search for food. The survivors were stranded for 7 months before, having built a boat, they managed to sail to, Delagoa, where they were able to get passage to Madagascar.
